Counterclaims

A counterclaim is a legal claim made by a defendant against the plaintiff in response to the plaintiff's original claim in a lawsuit. Essentially, it is the defendant's way of asserting that the plaintiff has also wronged them and that the defendant should be compensated or have some legal remedy for those damages.
